SCORM for the client’s LMS
THE BRIEF
Turn a trainer-led ladder safety session into a course people can take on their own.
The Challenge
The client’s ladder safety training lived in a slide deck, a trainer’s guide and printed exercises, so it depended on a trainer being in the room. They needed a version staff could complete at their own pace, with proof of completion they could rely on.
Our Approach
We worked through every piece of the original training and kept what mattered, from inspection steps to setup rules. Classroom discussion exercises became hands-on interactions, and group-only activities became optional downloads. Storyline gave us the control we needed for scoring, navigation and a printable certificate.
WHAT WE BUILT
Practice before the first climb
The course takes learners from why ladder accidents happen, through choosing, inspecting and setting up a ladder, to climbing and working safely, with interactions throughout. It ends with a scored assessment and a certificate of completion.
01
Hazard spotting
Learners search a work scene for hazards, then practise inspection by clicking through each part of a ladder.
02
Scenario decisions
A damaged ladder, a deadline and three choices. Learners see the consequences of each.
03
Assessment and certificate
A 10-question scored assessment recorded in the LMS, and a personalised A4 certificate on completion.
THE RESULT
What changed
13
hands-on activities, so learners inspect, sort and set up a ladder on screen before they climb a real one
0
trainers needed, so staff complete it at their own pace on any site or shift, without waiting for a session
1
auditable record per learner, with a score in the LMS and a personalised certificate on completion
“Thank you to you and your team for the effort and attention that has gone into developing this training module. The course looks very good, performs well, and appears ready for deployment.”
